Island Park for Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving 2023, we made it to the cabin in Island Park, Idaho. This was the first year with no snow when we arrived. It did end up snowing a little bit while there and on our way home. We made it to the frog pond with our sleds. For our hike, the kids had to walk to the Madison River from the Yellowstone west entrance instead of be pulled by sleds. This hike was the one thing I wanted to do. We saw a bald eagle perched. Mesa Falls was actually accessible because of lack of snow, so we saw the upper and lower falls. My kids were the only little ones. Most of their cousins are growing up and becoming adults. I'm thankful they are still patient and give their time to our kids because they adore them all. Tilly and I attempted to perm our eye lashes. The whole process is long and funny, but they turned out pretty good! We had a big feast the day before Thanksgiving and then we headed back home. Maddox had a lacrosse tournament on Thanksgiving day we came back for. I'm grateful to have such an amazing immediate and extended family. I'm thankful we have the opportunity to go to the cabin and spend time together. I love my family so much!
