Coronavirus Social Distancing
Thanks to the Coronavirus (Covid-19), everything is closed: playgrounds, museums, food places (except for pickup), schools. And here, we are homeschooling again, but without the field trips and people to associate with. "Social distancing" is the thing now. We have to stay 6 feet away from people, not hang out with anyone other than our own family and only go to stores when it is absolutely essential. When I thought things were heading this way, I dropped the kids off at school (their last day, but we didn't know it then) at 8 am and took the 3 little boys straight to Macey's to get some food to be able to hold us over for a while. It was weird with so many empty shelves, peoples carts filled to the brim (including mine), and very long lines. We needed milk and I bought the rest of what they had, which was only Organic and Lactose Free. I made a quick stop at our neighborhood Maverik to see if they had any and I was able to snag 4 gallons! It was a surreal experience. We have been spending our time outside when we can, exploring the trail by our house, finding snakes and bones. We even had a snow day and made some interesting snowmen. We have had lots of movie nights and listening to Harry Potter books. We have brought dinner to Grandpa a few times, who is alone due to Grandma being injured in Missouri. We have fished and had fires in our backyard and lots of picnics. I am grateful I get to spend all day with these awesome kids and realize how blessed we truly are. We are healthy, Dad has a job, we have enough food, we have friends we can reach out to. Everything will be OK.
