A Day Downtown
On early out Monday, I decided to pack up the kids and head to Salt Lake City to a museum for their homeschool day. Sadly, we arrived after the end of it, so they wouldn't let us in without paying an arm and a leg for admission. With disappointed children, I hauled them all to Temple Square and City Creek. They were such good sports following me as their tour guide. We headed through the mall to Temple Square, making our first stop at the Joseph Smith Building to see the amazing view from the top floor. They loved it and asked so many questions about the city and the temple. Next, we walked by the temple to the Church History Museum and enjoyed learning more about the first vision and the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint's restoration. They were just soaking it all in! Griffin wore the cutest brand new plaid outfit and the dang zipper broke (hence the cute belly button hanging out). Then, we headed up to the children's area to explore. We did origami, drew, built with blocks, played with puppets and pretended. The best part is that no one was there! We had the museum And Temple Square pretty much to ourselves! We ate dinner at the City Creek food court, then headed home! No fighting, polite children, exploring at our own pace. It was one of the best days we've had in a long time! If Aaron was there, it would have been perfection. Miss you always, Daddy!
