Our First Camping Trip

After begging me for years to go camping, I finally gave in to Aaron and said yes. The last time we camped, we went to Gualala when Tilly was 5 months old. We bought a 10x16 tent (huge), loaded the car and we were on our way to Yuba Lake. It is only 1 hr 15 minutes south.
 Not dirty from camping yet!
We drove around trying to pick the perfect camping spot! It was a very secluded lake only 5 minutes off I-15.
 Cute little traveler!
You could even see Mt. Timp from the lake, it was probably 60 miles away! That was really cool!
Our perfect camping spot and lake all to ourselves! Not another person in sight in any direction!
We set up right on the beach!
Claiming our spot!
We had 2 picnic tables and a fire ring! We had a huge tree right next to us blocking the shade! It was 90 degrees! Beautiful!
 Having fun already!
As soon as we arrived, the kids wanted their swim suits on to get in the water! They LOVED it! We had to drag them out of the water at dark!
Sand EVERYWHERE! I have a Love/Hate relationship with sand. Love that it entertains my children forever! Hate that it is everywhere!
Our own Boy Scout setting up the tent!
Roasting dinner! Maddox ate 3 hot dogs! They're his fav!
Our sweet tent! We had 2 queen air matresses blown up and a pack n' play set up on the other side of the middle divider. We were soo comfy! That is until the wind started blowing at midnight. It blew part of our tent down it was so windy! We had to park the car right next to the tent and tie the right front corner of the tent to the roof rack. The wind was so loud! Maddox woke up at like 2am crying, "I want to go home!" We had so much sand blown into our tent. We woke up in the morning with a thick layer of sand all over everything in our tent! Our faces, our blankets, the floor!
Surprisingly, Travis slept like a baby! No peeps from him!
Morning rolled around and it was dead calm outside. The sun was shining. It was beautiful!
Cold cereal for breakfast!
Happy from a good night's rest!
Already playing with the swords, I mean roasting sticks.
After breakfast, we went on a walk up the beach. There were little herds of big cows along the beach and we loved imitating their loud moo's.
 My kids LOVE sand!
The second they woke up, they were asking to go in the water. So after our little walk, they threw on their suits and dove right in!
Loving our time together!
Travi loved slashing the water in tray to his walker and he especially loved crawling in the sand!
A huge beetle crawling at our campsite. It was huge, even compared to my toes.
On our first day of camping, we forgot to pack the lighter for the fire. Aaron drove to Scipio, the nearest town, and bought a lighter at the gas station. Right next to it, they had a little petting zoo. So on our way out, we decided to stop and check it out! Of course it was closed that day, but the nice man who took care of the animals showed them around. They even got to feed the cute little baby goats with bottles of milk! They did a great job. Almost makes me want to get a pet goat. Almost.
Our camping trip was a success. It lasted for 24 hours and we had sooo much fun! And only 2 of us got sunburned (Me and Aaron)! Everyone was dead tired from our little trip, except of course our little bubby!
