...watched Chantilly and Maddox help Grandma make the American flag strawberry shortcake for dessert! Yum! At around 10am, my contractions were probably 8 minutes apart. So, we went to church at 11. Suddenly, they are 3 minutes apart. I barely made it through the sacrament portion of the meeting! We left our kids with Aaron's parents after the sacrament, went home to get some things, and drove to the hospital in Orem! We got there at 12:15pm. They checked my cervix and I was dilated to 4cm at about 12:45pm. They were debating on whether to send me home thinking it was too early, but my doctor said I was progressing, so I stayed! My doula, Lorna, came and helped me through my contractions and to focus on relaxing! She was awesome! Aaron was a big help chatting me through contractions, trying to take my mind off the pain! At 2ish, my cervix was at 6cm and progressing well! I think around 3:45pm I was at 7cm with super intense contractions! Man, did they hurt! At 4:15pm, I couldn't help pushing through my contractions! So, they checked me and my cervix was a 10! Time to push! They brought in my doctor and I started pushing! He broke my water and I pushed through 4ish contractions for like 15 minutes, screaming bloody murder, and the head came out and out slithered the rest of our son at 4:42pm! This is my recollection of the birth, it was quite an experience! |
